Finely carved decoration which must refer to the legend of the "4 sleepers", in fact we can distinguish a priest with his tiger on one side and an arhat accompanied by his companion servant of the monastery on the other side. The 4 characters are represented in a mountainous landscape, surrounded by waterfalls, pines, clouds and peonies, all these elements being highly symbolic...

19th Century Japanese Cast Iron with Gold & Silver Inlay Tea Kettle Tetsubin Signed Ryubundou (Kinryu-Do) at the Lid

It is 9.45 inches (24 cm) tall measured with handle up and 5.11 inches (13 cm) tall measured with handle down by 7.09 inches (18 cm) wide. It is 1950 gram. It will hold 1400 (ml) CC of water.

It is tarnished and has oxidation, rust, rubbing of gold, cut marks at the rim at the underside of the lid, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

A fine, antique handmade pure silver tea kettle (ginbin) with knobbed surface covering the body. Each knobbed, Arare, is meticulously formed and added. Open-work knob on lid with finely worked details. Signed in the botton: Dai (great) including small pure silver mark (gin). Fitted kiri-box. H 17 cm (with handle), D 13 cm. Weight: 387 g. Condition: Excellent, used item , a slight dent on the left side of the sprout.

Japanese Dragon design Cast Black Iron Tetsubin, Teapot, this kettle is supported with three(3) small feet, with twisted iron handle, and Pewter top, Meiji period, 1880's, 9" high include handle up, 9 1/2" wide include the spout, rust inside the tea pot, with twisted handle and impressed design of vines on the Pewter top cover, raised Dragon is flying among the clouds. The tip of spout is brokwn off and repaired(small piece of broken piece is saved inside the kettle).

Japanese Black Cast Iron Sake warming Pot with Red Lacquered wood Cover, Ca. 1920, 7 1/2" high with handle up, 9" wide with spout included, very ornate Bronze knob on top of the old original Red Lacquered top. Impressed various flowers, whisteria, iris and maple leaves decoration inside fan shape enclosures. Very slow leaks from the bottom supported by 3 small feet, this is for decoration purpose only

A large Japanese bronze flower vase, Edo period, 17th century. 30 cms. Provenence: The collection of the late Simon Digby, Oriental scholar, 1932-2010. A very similar vase, but with different handles, is illustrated by Michael Goedhuis, Chinese and Japanese Bronzes, 1989, pl.92.

A bronze plate with shaped rim, beautifully decorated, in gold lacquer with sparrows among bamboo and plants. Base signed "Kyoto Okuda sei". Dimension: diameter: c. 20.3 cm, c. 1.2 cm high. Condition: fine, only minor wear and lacquer loss.

The size of each Cuff Links: 9/16” Dia x 1/16” Thick.
This is rare Japanese Damascene with Letter initial K.
Both K on cuffs are inlaid by Gold. It is from 1930’s
vintage 90 years which almost 100 years antique. The background
of Cuffs are made by copper with gold plated
but Initial K is real Gold. The condition of cuff links excellent.

Antique Japanese cast iron tetsubin (kettle for heating water for tea). Made with a tall handle and bell-shaped body. Raised shells adorn one side with a raised abalone shell on the other. The intentional casting of rough edges adds a natural beach-like appearance. The lid is also made of cast iron.

Age: Meiji Period (1868-1912)

Small cast iron tea-pot. One side is decorated with lotus flowers, the other side is without any decoration. The spout is doubled in bronze, the handle is in copper as well as the lid which has a decoration of small rounds in light relief of different patina, perhaps formerly gilded. The grip button is in silver plated copper and shakudo. It is likely that this type of jug was also used for alcohol as specified on the invoice issued by the seller in Kyoto which dates it to 1850...

Cast Bronze Candlestick. Edo Japan Lost wax cast bronze candlestick. Beautiful cast iron and scraper finish. Decoration of Buddhist lions in relief. The candle receptacle is made of 4 hammered bronze lotus petals, these petals, thin enough, have a flexibility allowing the candles to be held perfectly. The two removable handles have the shape of Buddhist lions. Excellent bronze patina. Japanese work from the beginning of the Edo period, difficult to date with accuracy, 18th century or before...

Cast bronze candlestick. Finely chiseled decoration of tao tie masks and stylized cicadas in the archaic Chinese style. The cast is perfect without the slightest defect. The carving is precise without error. The object has a very elegant atypical shape. Below a mark of 6 characters must announce the name of the artist who is necessarily excellent.
