A charming and very well-painted Nepalese drawing of Vishnu mounted on Garuda, following Krishna who is seated on a cloud. Worshippers attend them in this scene, set against a mountainous background with elephants and monstrous serpents beneath. Some soiling is present, as well as a small tear on the left margin and a small loss at the bottom right, all visible in the photographs. The painting is done on thickened paper and measures 9-1/4" X 12"...

A large and exceptionally well-painted 19th century painting on paper of Krishna in repose, attended by a group of courtly ladies. The piece measures some 14-3/4" X 12". The butter would have melted and burned for a measured amount of time depending on the size and the amount in the lamp.
