$2,500.00 A beautiful Thai painting portraying a Jataka tale. A royal chariot of with the future Buddha before he renounced his royal position. At the bottom of the painting four devotees are holding lotus buds perhaps indicative of another time frame.
Done with mineral pigments and the most exquisite coloration. This thai painting was part of a Buddhist prayer book. On the backside a message in is beautifully written. Age: 18th-19th century.

SOLD An unusual hira natsume decorated with motifs of a cicada, dragonfly, spider, snail, cricket, and frog. A few insects are closely associated with the various seasons. For example, the cicada and snail are summer insects, the dragonfly and cricket are autumn. In addition, the insects have allusions to zen and Japanese philosophies. The cloisonne is done in a technique aka-sukashi, ginbari, where the metal base contains a pattern which is showing through the red cloisonne glaze. SOLD Chinese Han Dynasty (206 B.C. - A.D. 220) bronze lidded censor, round form, on three legs, incised characters on both front and back sides, handles on either side, beautiful patina, sits on beautifully carved hardwood stand made later during the 19th century.
Total size: 6 3/4" high x 8 1/4" wide including handles.
Bronze alone is 6 1/4" high

$2,500.00 Antique Chinese porcelain plate circa 1900's (Qing Dynasty). The plate is beautifully painted with a sage holding a sprig of bamboo riding a blue celadon. The Sage and fish are accompanied by a gold winged dog. There are three seals. The plate is bordered with three registers. It measures 11.75" wide by 9" tall. The base has four bats, one on each side. The edge of the plate has old fitters from age.

It is obviously from the Mid Edo Period and one of the most impressing pieces of art in our collection with its mysterious and spiritual character. We offer this Tenjin figure with a wooden stand, which was built by a former owner. As you can notice on the photos, it has some scratches and hairline cracks, which do not diminish its antique effect.

$2,500.00 A small porcelain iron red overglaze water coup decorated with dragons set among scrolling clouds. The iron red style was developed in the Ming dynasty and in the Qing various styles were expanded. Additionally, with the continuity of the literati tradition, various objects were being produced and one was the water coup which is essential in producing ink for calligraphy. The water coup contains an inscription reading Da qing xiangfeng nian xin. (1851-1861).
