Antique Japanese scroll painting of a hawk standing on the branch of an oak tree. The hawk is detailed with great attention to every feather. Painted in sumi ink and light colors on paper. Signed Shunkei with seal, possibly Mori Shunkei (1775-1841).

Japanese gold lacquer inro with five compartments, decorated in low relief landscape scene of lakeside mountains, cottages, pagodas, pine trees, and bridges in gold lacquer and accents of silver. The reverse side shows a tiny man in a boat traversing the waters. The inside compartments are covered with dense nashiji lacquer (fine gold flecks). Underneath the bottom compartment is an artist's signature with red chop. With some losses.

Japanese incense box in the form of a flattened drum with realistic wood grain pattern in gold flake togidashi maki-e lacquer and high relief lacquer to resemble iron studs along the sides. The top of the box is done in low-relief maki-e gold lacquer with the image of a mother hen and father rooster pecking for food with their three infant chicks. The crest and waddle of each rooster are done with touches of red lacquer. The interior box and bottom are done in dense nashiji lacquer gold flakes. ...

Antique Japanese half section Mizuya, or kitchen buffet tansu, made of Hinoki (cypress) and Sugi (cedar) wood frame. The chest has bold Keyaki (elm) front drawers along the bottom and right side with copper handles. The large sliding front panels are reinforced with attractive horizontal slats, and open to the large interior compartment.

A famille rose enameled porcelain plate decorated with dragons, phoenix, crane, butterflies and other motifs on coral-red ground, a six character red enamel "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" mark is on the bottom. This plate was one of the party wares with similar designs made for Emperor Guangxu's wedding in 1888. The plate is in excellent condition beside some scratches on enamel - no chip, no hairline and no restoration. Diameter: 9"

A very rare and unusual large Chinese scroll painting done in the Japanese style of a bird in a cage with a bamboo tree and netting. Some gold leaf work on the leaves. A 2,000 year rare carved center agate bead with three distinctive colors surrounded by round agate beads with gold spacers of the same period. An exceptionally and very rare beautiful and unusual stem bowl with a thick black glaze and decorative bands painted in an iron rust color. There is one boldly etched (scraffiato) large flower with leaves. The background of the flower is in an iron rust glaze accentuating the floral spray.
