A pair of porcelain vases, each with globular body and tall cylindrical neck, covered with an even, dark, slightly iridescent apple-green crackled glaze. One of the vases has a white foot rim and is white deep inside; the other is "burned" (iron oxide) orange on the foot rim and inside. These items were made in China, in the mid Qing dynasty, during either the late 18th or early 19th Century.

This item was made in China for the scholar's table, in the Transitional Period probably during the reign of the Shunzhi emperor (1644 to 1661).

Antique Japanese wooden bowl carved in the form of a wide lotus leaves. On the inside of the bowl, a frog with turquoise eye climbs the stalk of a lotus blossom. Two more frogs cling to curling leafy edges. The underside of the bowl is carved like the underside of a lotus leaf including it's spiraling stalk.

Raised designs in slip decorate the yellow glaze of this deep bowl by Kawai Kanjiro enclosed in a kiriwood box titled O-yu Tsutsugaki-mon Wan annotated by Kawai Toshitaka, current head of the Kawai Kanjiro Museum. A beautiful example of a Hakeme style bowl, this one quite rare as it was made around 200 years ago by the son of the founder of the Dohachi line of potters.
