A beautifully crafted Shino ware chawan with fantastic crackled glaze by Kato Gorohachi (?-1900) The potter signature is carved on the bottom.

Probably inspired by early Korean Ido shape examples, the bowl perfectly lies in hands giving strong Wabi feel.

There is not much information available about this Meiji potter even in Japan and his birth year is unknown.
He worked in the Hinno kiln of Aichi Prefecture in late 19 century.

Traditional folk Korean patchwork hemp textile made from various scrap fabrics (white x lustrous beige) called Bojagi (Pojagi), mid 20th century, approx. 68 x 69cm (26.77 x 27.16in), embodies the lifestyle and the story of the people who take good care of their possessions at that time. Some expected slight frays, discoloring, and small holes due to aging, but in beautiful vintage condition as is as seen.

This vivid Mino Iga tea bowl is made by renowned Japanese ceramist Yaemon Kato (b.1942)
The mark of the potter is carved near the foot ring.

Yaemon Kato, a third son of Juemon Kato (1894-1974), continued his father's efforts to revive and restore Mino ceramic art working on Shino, Kiseto, Oribe, Mino Iga, etc.
