A lovely small koro decorated with Chinese Bell Flowers by Kiyomizu Rokubei VI enclosed in a signed wooden box titled Kikyo Koro. Inside the box appears to be written Seimei Gama Yakisei (fired in the Seimei kiln) signed Rokubei. It is 10.5 cm (4 inches) tall and in excellent condition. A quintessential piece by Rokubei VI.

Satzuma fine earthenware tea bowl by Nakamura Baikei (1868-1912). Decor of a palace or a temple rising in a snow-covered lake landscape and animated by numerous characters. Drawings very finely executed by Baikei who was one of the best artists in Satzuma. His works were widely copied. Its production was of irregular quality, sometimes weak, rarely excellent. The bowl presented here is one of his best creations, if not the best, because it is perfect...

Box and its tray in black lacquered wood decorated with bindweed in gold and silver powdered lacquer. Details of gold squares. Black interior. Nice finish. No signature. Japanese work from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century, Meiji or Showa period. Good condition except for some wear on the corners visible in the photos. No catering.

Arita hard porcelain dish. The decoration is painted with stylized flowers in underglaze cobalt blue and enamelled with medallions. The edge is coated with a thick chocolate brown enamel, typical. Japanese work from the end of the 17th century or the beginning of the 18th. It is a rare artistic model. Below a mark drawn in blue and traces of pernettes. Good condition. Some enamel skids. Covered bowl in lacquered wood covered with black lacquer (roiro) decorated with stylized flowers and fans in gold powder. The artist used several shades of gold to give relief to his creation. On the fans are carefully drawn tiny patterns, waves, plants and turtles (minogame) surrounding a moon (or a sun). Sake cup in wood lacquered with gold, silver and cinnabar powder. On the outside on a rich thick kinji background, decorated with flowers in gold and silver leafs around the perimeter and in the center 2 stylized Chinese characters in thick lumpy cinnabar lacquer with the most beautiful aesthetic effect, probably the mark of the artist. The exterior is decorated with maple leaves in gold, red, green and brown lacquer on a black background. Note that polychrome lacquers are very rare...

It is numbered in pencil 5/150 at the lower left below the artist's red seal. Paper: 17 5/8" x 22 3/4" (image: 15 1/4" x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. There are some minor wrinkles in the paper at the margin edges and there is a small mark in the margin at the upper left corner.
