Beautiful antique painting of a scene taken from the Japanese novel The Tale of Genji (Genji Monogatari), written by Murasaki Shikibu during the Heian period (794-1185 AD). The painting depicts chapter 4, in which Genji, 17 at the time, goes to visit his old wet-nurse, Koremitsu ,who had fallen ill. He notices some moonflowers growing in the adjacent yard, and he orders his servant to pick one...

A fine sterling silver sculpture of a Yatch in full sail featuring gold inlay bands on the sail. Titled "Yacth" by Japanese master artist Seki Takehiko, it is in excellent condition the sculpture measures 5.5" high. The complete presentation including the glass case measures 9" long x 6" deep x 9.5" high.

This is a very attractive antique Japanese Cloisonne Vase. The colors are very bright and the subject matter is pleasing to the eye. The vase is not signed but we believe it was created by Ando or Gonda, several of the top makers in the late Meiji Era. It stands 9 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

Antique Japanese iron tsuba, or hand guard for a sword. It has an oval shape with raised motif of gold inlay bamboo shoots and leaves crossing in from the outer edges. Its backside has a single bunch of gold inlay leaves peeking in from the bottom. Size: 2.75" height, 2.5" width

Antique Japanese theatre mask, skillfully hand-carved into the face of a tengu, or birdlike spirit, characterized by an usually long nose. His face is painted in red lacquer with black facial hair, and gold-lacquered eyes typical of a demon. The insides bears the usual rough chisel markings of a finely hand-carved piece. Antique Japanese takeda ningyo doll of general Yoshitsume Minamoto of the Minamoto clan (born 1159, died 1189). He is considered to be one of the most famous samurai in all of Japanese history. He fought alongside his brothers Yoritomo and Noriyori in the Genpei War against the Taira clan, but would later be defeated at the Battle of Koromo in 1189.
