$350.00 Charming Chinese ink rubbing of a stone stele depicting a fat cat surrounded by rockery with holes and chrysanthemum flowers after a painting by Jiang Tingxi (1669-1732) that was based upon an earlier work by Ming artist Lu Ji (1477-1505). Jiang’s seal bears the artist’s pseudonym “Nansha.” Likely dates late Qing to Republic period (late 19th to early 20th century). Paper: 24 3/4" x 13 3/4 (image: 21 3/8" x 11 1/4"). They feature a beautiful crackle glaze with a polychrome scene depicting warriors in the Battle of the 3 Kingdoms. These jars were last used as a antique decorative item on top of a diminutive slant top writing desk in a NYC Park Avenue Apartment before the family retired to NC.
