A finely carved image of Nyingmapa Master of purple sandal wood (zitan). He is seated in meditation posture on a low lotus seat. Face and robe decorated with cold gold. Inscribed in gold on lower back of seat (partly lost). Made from various pieces of precious zitan wood as is common for images of this kind. Sealed. Tibet, 17th cent. H 14 cm. Condition: Good all-over. Minor losses to face and hands.

The wonderfully shaped silver grip is exquisitely crafted as a 3-dimensional Lion's head. The dominant dense pamor pattern resembles the irregular annual rings of a tree trunk. Old Kalaga from Myanmar (now Burma) featuring an unusual but colorful bird. The kalaga is embroidered with a combination of metallic and plain threads, sequins, beads and glass stones. Applied around the bird in a circle are glass-like stones that give the appearance of moonstones. In very good antique/vintage condition, it measures about 14.25 inches square. Circa 1950's or earlier.

Wood Stele of Indra & his Consort Indrani; Indra, the God of weather and war, is depicting holding his consort on his left side and sitting on his elephant mounts. The vajra or thunderbolt is placed on a flower stem next to the right shoulder. Carved dark hardwood, traces of colours. Nepal, 18th century. H. 39 cm, W. 21 cm. Condition: quite good overall, but loss to Indra’s right knee, some cracks and wear due to age.
