$595.00
An early and powerful Hindu carved wooden panel showing a female divinity, most likely Durga, whose "vahana" is a lion. The panel is very deeply carved with fine detail. Only very minor abrasions, as to be expected in a piece of this age, with no losses. It measures 7-1/2" X 10" and has a hook fastened to the back (not original) to facilitate display.
Indian Subcontinent : India : Carvings : Pre 1900 item #1404744 (stock #071919E)
Oldbailey Antiques
$1,195.00
This exceptionally detailed and well-carved Indian wooden panel is known as a "kevadi." From the Kerala region and dating to the mid-19th century or earlier, this panel would have been carried during a religious procession as one of two similar supports for the principal Hindu deity being honored. This particular carving would almost certainly have been incorporated in a "Shaivite" ritual celebration, honoring Shiva. The piece measures 20" in height with excellent detail...
Indian Subcontinent : India : Metalwork : Pre 1900 item #1404743 (stock #071919D)
Oldbailey Antiques
$395.00
This well-cast bronze depicts the baby Krishna as "the butterball thief," referencing an episode from his childhood. The piece is solid-cast and measures some 3" in length and 3-1/2" in height. Well cast with excellent details, especially the face and jewelry. Please see the photos.
Indian Subcontinent : India : Metalwork : Pre 1492 item #1404742 (stock #071919C)
Oldbailey Antiques
$1,195.00
This sculpture includes an inscription on the reverse and is dated to "1427 Samvat," a date that places the sculpture in the 15th century. The piece has sustained a loss to the "edging" along the top (viewer's) right,as well as a loss adjacent to the "canopy," visible in the photograph. The casting quality is, in my opinion, outstanding, completely consistent with the early Jain classical style of sculpture. The piece has a beautiful, warm brown patina. It measures 6-1/4" in height.

A well-cast coppery bronze statue of Ganesh, the elephant-headed son of Shiva, dating to the 17th century, or possibly earlier. The piece is completely intact and free of damage or repair, as seen in the photographs. A beautiful warm chocolate patina overall. It measures 3 inches in height.
