This is a striking Japanese uchikake, wedding gown. The design on this gown is the sacred pine tree, “Yogo no Matsu”, and golden clouds. Pines in gold or gold clouds are often painted on silk screens or used as the background for a noh play stage. The wall paintings in the Kyoto Nijo castle, Kyoto, which were painted by Kano, Tanyu (1602-74) when he was in his mid 20s, are quite famous.

This is a beautiful Japanese cloisonne Vase from the 1920's. It was created with a profusion skilled of work. It was made by Hayashi or Ando. It stands 9 3/4 inches tall and is 4 3/4 wide. Rims are silver and stamped. Bottom rim a tiny indentation in the silver but this vase is in outstanding condition.

This is a beautifully decorated large 12 inch Japanese Satsuma vase from Kinkozan. It is unique and rare piece because of the gold wisteria decorations. The painting and fine enameling are exquisite. A fabulous vase that is in overall excellent condition. At one time it was made into a lamp. The drill hole has been masterfully restored. It is signed on the underside with an impressed mark and was never signed in gold in the center bottom.

She wears wears the many layered Kimono of Royalty, featuring elaborate embroidery. She has a beautifully carved face, covered with Gofun (Oyster Shell Lacquer). Her fantastic crown is something special. 11.5 inches (29 cm) high and 12 inches (30.5 cm) wide. From a widely renowned and published collection that has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum and Japan Society.

A Beautiful Modern Maki-e Lacquer Kogo, Container for Incense. The lid and sides are decorated with stylised rocks among waves rendered in low relief with different techniques: kirigane ( small squares of gold foil), fundame (mat gold ground), nashigi (sprinkled gold powder) and shakudo on a kuro roiro shiage (polished black lacquer) background A beautiful object for tea ceremony! Japanese Kyoto Nishijin silk obi roll. This is a soft, medium thick, high quality silk fabric with genuine high grade gold leaves woven in. Stamped Kyoto Nishijin and nishiki with a couple seals for passing quality checks. Some stains at the end (very left edge) - not likely to affect. The base silk is cream color. 28 1/2" x 163".

Antique Japanese two section Kannon Biraki tansu, made with Kiri (paulownia) wood, original red lacquer finish. The top section houses two large drawers behind a pair of double hinged doors. Decorations of iron hardware include a charming heart shaped lock within a single iron ring and strips of iron across the front of each door, with chrysanthemum shaped studs. Incredible Japanese highly bronze figure of three playful puppies. One falling onto his back, another laying in the middle and the last one climbing over him. They are all very finely detailed. The artist's signature on the bottom of the middle puppy. Very well done with exquisite detail.
