Cotton cloth which used to be obi (sash) for a casual kimono. It has hand-drawn tsutsugaki design. It was "Nagoya obi" which was invented in early 20th century to make it easier to tie in the traditional style. Silk meisen kimono with colorful geometric stripes. It has thin cotton lining and red silk cloth in the hem of sleeves. In good condition except for a few mending patches in the lining. 1930s. 124cm x 150cm

Japanese Yunomi pair of beakers, one a little smaller than the other, husband and wife cups. Decoration of enameled / iroe carnation flowers in Kakiemon style and colours on a matted ground. Arita Nabeshima, Tsuji production signed Mayama Akira. Between the leaves to the left of each beaker there is further writing in Japanese. Height "3 ¼ / 8 and "3 ½ / 8.5 cm respectively. Condition: fine.

It is a few layers of old washi (handmade paper) pasted together and painted with kakishibu (persimmon tannin) for strength and waterproof.
