An antique Japanese Tansu chest called Kotansu (personal storage chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Kakute style handles. The lock plates feature the 3 fan family crest (Mitsu Ogi) and the drawers have open fan decorative corners and handle stoppers (called Atari).

A rare Chinese painted grey pottery figure of a standing musician wearing a long robe and wind hat, Northern Wei dynasty (386 - 535 AD). 20 cms. Oxford TL test certificate. To date I have seen only one other musician from this rare set.

Very exquisite lacquer tea caddy (natsume), cylindrical form with round lid, finely decorated in gold made by the second Tamura Toshihide in the late 19th century. He was the successor and the son of one of the greatest MAKIE artisans of all time, the 1st Tamura Toshihide (1757 - 1833).

Chinese Song dynasty shallow bowl covered in a pale finely crackled gray-green qingbai (yingqing) glaze that stops at the unglazed slightly recessed low foot. The exterior is decorated with carved and/or moulded petal forms. Measures just over 6” diameter x 1 3/4" high. Circa 13th century. Very good overall condition. From the estate of Gerhard Lohmeier, a Diplomat at the German Embassy in Beijing from 1985 to 1989.

Definitely very rare Underglazed-Red dish, decorated with slight concave in the center painted with parrots and peaches, surrounded by a pair of Dragons among the clouds, all objects with copper red, appear to emerge from the surface. Underside is plain with four characters mark "YONG LE NIEN ZHE" Ming Dynasty 15th Century possibly of the period or slight later. Diameter: 26,1 cm.

Cast solid silver cane. Very high relief decoration of 2 dragons and 2 bats surrounded by clouds, the carvings are precise. On the side the Chinese character "Shou" is inlaid in gold. The background is chiseled with amati. It is rare to find a cane of this excellent quality in solid cast silver, usually this type of cane being made of simply embossed silver.
