Pair of Chinese Ming Dynasty Turquoise Glazed Birds / Phoenix

These rare and attractive birds (likely the mythical phoenix) date to the second half of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), and are most likely a product of Shanxi province in the north of China. They are highly detailed and made from a pale stoneware in two halves that have been moulded and then luted together prior to firing.
