This is a very fine and rare antique/vintage piece circa 55/60 years old in perfect condition. I purchased this in 1990 and it has been in storage ever since. This was embroidered by the Dhebaria Rabari ethnic group from East Kutch, it should be noted that this group has ceased doing embroidery over 40 years ago. W: 120cm/47.2in and H: 73cm/28.8in. A rare blue and sea foam glazed dish from the Narushima kilns of Yamagata prefecture enclosed in an age darkened wooden box dating from the 19th century (Edo to Meiji periods). Beneath the undulating rim comb marks have been etched into the iron rich clay creating a pattern of leaping waves. The smooth red, fine clay is visible clearly inside the foot-ring. The dish is 24.5 cm (10 inches) diameter, 6.5 cm (2-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition.

A lidded globular stem cup in partly filled cloisonné decorated with stylised lotuses and other flowers in multicoloured enamel. Inside covered in a thickly-layered, light blue enamel as is typical for pieces of this kind. Qing, Guangxu period (1875–1908), around 1900. H 12.5 cm, D 9.5 cm. Condition: Fine, but with one small chip to enamel on the inside of the lid.

A fabulous lacquered storage box covered in fine maki-e designs of gold and blue gold on jet black dating from the Meiji period. Designs in thick maki-e gold decorate the inside of the lid. It is 42.5 x 35.5 x 17 cm (16-1/2 x 14 x 7 inches) and is in overall excellent condition, fresh back from being professionally polished.
