This large dish features a central motif of six intricately designed chrysanthemums, surrounded by a band of elegant waves. Twin chrysanthemum sprays adorn the inner walls, complemented by a cross-hatched diaper border. The entire composition is beautifully rendered in exquisite underglaze blue.

SOLD A Large Chinese Blue and White ‘Quilin’ Dish with Floral, Bird, and Could Decorations. Circa, 16th Century, Zhangzhou Ware, Ming Dynasty.
Found in the Philippines.
This large dish features a centralized Qilin, elegantly surrounded by intricate floral and branch motifs, as well as delicate bird designs complemented by cloud patterns. The reverse side of the plate is adorned with graceful floral scrolls, all rendered in exquisite underglaze blue.

Fete on Water with Sarugaku Theatre Entertainment This Japanese print may be from the April 4, 1919 edition of 'Kokka' Magazine" The magazine produced what are called chromoxylographs, which may be the medium here. This lively scene features embossing throughout. Size: 14 x 9 inches. Condition: Very good. What may appear to be a crack descending from the top and brown marks in the water are actually reproduced from the source artwork. The two smaller cast brass fittings make part of the goddess Yellama basket, the large one is a linga-cover with the face of Shiva. Condition: traces of usage, mukha-lingha with old repair. Dimension: from 6.8 to 13.3 cm high.
