From our Chinese Polychrome Collection, a very fine Peking carpet, North China circa 1890-1920. This particular example features a large open golden orange field, which varies wonderfully in intensity of color throughout the pile. It's sparsely but elegantly decorated in restrained Chinese taste, using only leafy vines set against the open field, and bordered with a rich and still quite vibrant inky blue / navy blue outer border.

Chinese cabinet, lacquered all over and inlaid with scenes of beautiful ladies and children in a pavilion garden setting, the sides of the cabinet are also lacquered and inlaid with scenes of birds and flowers, interior has three shelves - the middle shelf has is two drawers built in, the front of the drawers are also decorated to match the front with beautiful lacquer work of scrolling flowers, 19th century. Size: 56 1/4" high x 36 1/4" wide x 17" deep.

Antique Japanese bronze figure of Quanyin from the Meiji period, late 19th century. The figure is holding a scroll and wearing draped robes decorated with necklaces and flowers. Quanyin is the buddhist goddess of compassion. It measures 12" tall, 4" wide at base.

Set of 8 beautiful vintage Japanese scalloped porcelain plates from the mid 20th century. The plates are decorated with flowers and other patterns. The outside of the plates are decorate with a blue scrolling pattern. The base is marked with 6 characters. They measure 8" wide.

Chinese Silver chain or bracelet with Bell, Turquoise and Nephrite Jade Ring, 11" long-maximum length, Bell-7/8" wide, 1" high, the Jade is 7/8" diameter-outside measurement, 7/8" long x 5/8" wide for Turquoise drop tear shape, 3/4" x 5/8" wide for Peach. The bell has beautiful ringing. It shows beautiful old patina.

Antique Japanese bronze usubata, Meiji period. The usubata are used for floral arrangements, like a vase. This usubata is striking with a dragon supporting the vessel with one of its arms as its back arches. It measures 9" tall 12" wide at base.

Antique chinese red-orange lacquer jewelry box. The box is decorated with scenes of life along the water. A boat glides by while two people cross over an arched bridge. Early 20th century. It measures 11" wide, 8" deep, 4" tall.

Elegant Japanese bronze art deco vase with scalloped lip from the 1930s. The vase has 8 faces that start as an octagon at the base and rise up to a bulbous form. Unmarked vase. It measures 16.25" tall 6.5" wide at top.

Antique Chinese square panel of red silk embroidered with still life scene of peony flowers in a dragon vase, on either side are elaborate display stands with shelves of different levels upon which are displayed a bowl of hand-of-buddha citron as well as smaller vases with flowers, a censor and other objects, details in wrapped gold thread, 19th century. Japanese shigaraki jar, Edo period 17th-18th century, thickly potted, the skin showing the characteristic pock marks and imbedded fieldspar with a natural ash glaze. This jar was originally used to store tea but became desired as an object of mingei beauty due to the tea ceremony aesthetics. It measures 4.5" wide at mouth 21' tall.

Chinese yellow Crackle ware Pottery Brush Washer and brush Holder, Ca. pre 1920, 1 5/8" high-maximum measurement, 2 3/4" wide,1 3/4" deep-maximum measurement, with crackled yellowish beige color glaze, a high relief frog beside rock garden on the top next to a round hole 3/8" diameter to hold a single brush. This crackle ware Brush Washer has glaze crack and few glaze flake frits on the glaze.

Japanese set of two(2) graduated size Red Lacquer Trays with gold lacquer decoration, made before 1940's, smaller tray fit inside larger tray, larger tray-1 3/8" high, 10 1/2" square with rounded corner, smaller tray-1 1/8" high 9 7/8" square with rounded corner, with three(3) circle floral design in gold on top of the red Lacquer background. Vintage Chinese watercolor by Russian artist Yastriez. Yastriez lived and worked in Shanghai in the early 20th century. A boat glides down the river under a bridge. A large verdant tree is on the river bank. G. Yastriez is signed in the bottom right corner. It measures 17.5" tall by 13.5" wide, image 6"7/8" wide 10" tall. Matted with blue and white.

Vintage chinese watercolor on canvas of a ship lowering a life boat at harbor. The back of the ship is painted with vivid colors.
