This is antique Indigo dye Stripe cotton sashiko boro noragi textile of the Meiji era(1868-1912). It is boro cotton and patchwork of very beautiful indigo dyeing. All this sashiko stitches are made by hand. I can enjoy it with the both sides. It is very rare textile. A small Paktong Ink Box made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier. The copper base bears a maker's or retailer's mark which, unfortunately, is too worn for us to read. Condition - wear to the base, consistent with many years of use, otherwise very good. 4.4cm (1.75ins) long; 3.2cm (1.25ins) wide; 2cm (0.8ins) deep.

Ayutthaya period Bronze Buddha, Siam, mounted, most likely survived the destruction of this ancient Thai capital by the Burmese in 1767, with some parts of the bronze statue partially melted (see photographs). A Chinese dish, enameled in Imari colours and gold with a fenced garden, peony and the auspicious pak choy plant. First decades of Qianlong (1736-95) or earlier. Diameter "9/ 22,5 cm and height "1½/ 4 cm. Condition: glaze wear, hairline and rim frits, star crack to the back (cf. pictures).
