A wood panel depicting the flying Apsaras was in good condition.
Obviously a part of building structures, this ancient wood carving of the Apsaras was well rendered in animated posture.
The wood texture was revealed by enduring age.

Date: 13th/14th century.

Provenance: Nepal.

Finely cast with good patina. Cambodia, 12th/13th century. H. 7 cm (the figure). Size including the stand 11,5 cm. Excellent condition.

A carved sandstone Khmer relief fragment in (Mahayana Buddhist) Angkor Wat style and mounted on a stand. This item was carved in what is now Cambodia, probably during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1215 AD). .
