Fine Chinese Song Dynasty Incised Qingbai Porcelain Bowl - Lotus

This fine-quality shallow porcelain bowl was made during the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1127 - 1279). In its centre is a large roundel within which is a delicately incised lotus flower spray. Save for the purposely unglazed rim and recessed foot, it is coated in quite a thick and glossy pale blue qingbai glaze of good colour.

This porcelain bowl was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Song / Yuan Dynasty). It has five decorative "notches" spread equidistant around the rim and is coated in quite a thick pale qingbai glaze, the colour of which varies a little in places. The glaze is finely-crackled in places. The inner foot remains unglazed revealing the pale porcelain body.
