Noragi (work wear) made of asa (hemp) whose both wets and warps are hand-plied. The sleeves are vegetable indigo dyed cotton. A few holes with mending patches. Late 19th to mid 20th century. 109cm x 71cm

Yuki-boshi (snow hat) made of weed and from Shonai region in Yamagata prefecture in Tohoku district. It is said it was worn by "matagi", a hunter. It has fragments of washi dyed with kakishibu (persimmon tannin) for waterproof. The second half of the 19th to early 20th century. In good condition. 45cm x 50cm

Rare small table hairdressing table in black and gold lacquered wood. Chinese furniture made for export at the end of 18°. Charming model in a moving condition . A black Raku ceremonial tea bowl displaying an excellent patina bestowed by time. The light colored clay peeks through in areas giving this piece a unique feel. Though the box is signed by the artist known as Rakuen, details on this particular potter seem to be lost to time. Condition of the box and the look of the tea bowl suggest a date of produced sometime in late Edo to Meiji (100-200 year ago).

Mother of pearl flowers rise among the large leaves of a paulownia tree on this small lacquer box and tray dating from the early 20th century enclosed in the original signed wooden box by Yoshida Rissai. According to Kei Wakao, the artist who crafted this extraordinary work, it took him years of trial-and-error to perfect the unique rice-porcelain glaze covering this finely shaped vase. An antique Tibetan traveling trunk made of hand hewn Pine wood. Leather was stretched over the wood and hand painted in polychrome lacquer. There are arrow shaped hard mounts, butterfly appliqué mounts on the corners and Dorje accents. The central panel features an offering tray of Hoju (sacred jewels). Stylized Peonies decorate the trunk and the main colors used were analogous primary hues. The cover of the top features a green water dragon.

This is an antique two section Korean Nong made of a hardwood with beautiful Maple wood accents. Original Nickel hardware with four drawers along the upper part of each section. There are bat handles representing happiness and medallions behind the lower handles signifying a wedding. The four carved panels on the upper half display two scenes of deer searching for the magic mushroom Lingzhi and two scenes of a Phoenix next to the Paulownia tree.

The end of the Edo period omijyofu indido dye hemp kasuri child kimono of charming pattern of treasure.There is no stain. There are two small holes in the sleeve. , but they don't stand out. A stunning fine antique Japanese makie lacquer box decorated with a tataki-nuri style black background with makie of vines and gourd and folding fans on the exterior. The interior is decorated in nashiji with a still life of a flower arrangement set in a basket with a charming lifelike rabbit and autumn grass for the inner tray. The vibrant colors and designs are often seen in lacquer works from the Edo and Meiji periods. Overall excellent original condition.
