A small 19th century Chinese porcelain joss holder in the form of a seated hound, covered in a mottled dark umber glaze revealing the white beneath in places and patches of light blue on each side. An unusual piece and may be one-of-a-kind, we are dating circa 1900 or a little earlier. On an integral rectangular bracket base, it measures 3.75 inches high, 2.75 long.

Beautiful pre Viet Nam War woman’s sarong from the Stieng/Xtiêng ethnic group Vietnam. Semi antique/vintage over 50 years old, all hand spun and woven. The center red and black panel is quite striking. Some minor old repairs on the selvedge and the stitches holding the panels together have unraveled in a couple of places, but otherwise no tears, holes or stains. L 135cm/53in and W: 66cm/26in.

This is base on an old Burmese folk tale about two brothers (messengers of King Anawathra- founder of Pagan) who fall in love with a young girl who rejects them and so they send a tiger to kill her. This is an 18th century, or early 19th century Balinese iron buckle, decorated with serpent motifs with gold inlay. There is some age-related rubbing with associated loss to the inlay, as would be expected. There is an inlaid calligraphic inscription to the back of the "fastener," which I have not had translated. The pieces measure, variously, 2-5/8" X 2-1/2" for the buckle, and 2-1/2" X 1-1/2" for the "fastener." The listing is for both pieces.

Eclectic strand of spherical wood, cylindrical bone and buffalo tooth beads, from the Chin ethnic group in Myanmar. Some of the bone beads have been dyed to resemble pumtek heirloom beads, possibly by a wax resist method. These were collected in the 1980s and had some age at the time so I will date around 1960. Total L: 71cm/28in.
