Very Rare LARGE Thai 13th - 15th Century Underglazed Bowl (Ex. Grahame Clarke Collection)

This superb large and extremely rare stoneware bowl was made during the 13th - 15th Century. It is "heavily-potted", coated in a white slip and decorated in underglaze iron, the design very similar to a smaller Vietnamese underglazed bowl we have from this period. It is coated in quite a thick clear pale green glaze that is finely-crackled. The thick foot is slightly splayed...

Good bronze small “lost wax cast” image of the Buddha being sheltered by Nagas. This piece was created in the 1980s emulating a Khmer style. Water smoking pipe. In the shape of a horse. Celadon crackle glaze ceramic with silver tube and metal fittings. Possibly from Laos. 14cm high. Undated, estimated to be mud 20th century. Can be viewed in central London and shipped worldwide.

Porcelain vase. Decor of dragons chasing the sacred pearl, painted in underglaze cobalt blue. The ground is covered with an ochre-greenish enamel. Vietnamese work from the 19th century or before? The vase is very broken as shown in the photos. The broken neck has been replaced by a silver neck on which a stopper has been placed. Height: 24cm.

A Padang Highlands gilt brass kettle with false lid and a lidded box standing on three legs, both cast with the lost wax method showing floral and geometric motifs. Condition: both lids with few tiny casting holes, the box interior with some rust, both items with traces of usage. Beautiful pre Viet Nam War woman’s sarong from the Stieng/Xtiêng ethnic group Vietnam. Semi antique/vintage over 50 years old, all hand spun and woven. The center red and black panel is quite striking. Some minor old repairs on the selvedge and the stitches holding the panels together have unraveled in a couple of places, but otherwise no tears, holes or stains. L 135cm/53in and W: 66cm/26in.

Lovely Cambodian lacquer betel box with decorative herring bone woven bamboo wall. Good condition, wear as to be expected with an old piece, but no damage. This was made Pre Khmer Rouge (before 1975). Although lacquer craft has been resurrected for decorative export pieces, artisanal made for domestic use are no longer produced due to its time consumption and the availability of cheap plastic.
