This is a silk kimono from the Edo period that is dyed with natural plants and made with tsutsugaki. The carp swimming in the rough waves is drawn in great detail using the tsutsugaki technique. There are slight dye spots, but there is no damage or stains and it is in very good condition. Really rare antique Raku Yashima Genpei Chawan, made around 1900. The impressed seal of the kiln is beside the foot ring. Yashima Genpei ware was made in the Kagawa prefecture. Only one kiln has existed and was closed before WWII.

This rare Chawan comes with an old wooden box.

An antique Japanese Imari charger in blue and white with a hand painted scene of two mated cranes, a strong bamboo tree and Peonies as its central image. Diamond shapes with stylized Chrysanthemums border the interior rim and mountain ranges with dotted clouds surround the exterior of the plate. Six original stilt marks to the bottom of the charger indicate the charger was fired in the upper section of the kiln.
