An antique Japanese Funa Tansu (ship chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia). All original hand forged iron hardware with a wiped lacquer finish. The front hinged security door opens to 5 drawers of varying sizes where ship documents, valuables and records were kept. Secret box hides behind and to the left of the bottom right drawer.

An antique Japanese Imari charger in blue and white with a hand painted scene of two mated cranes, a strong bamboo tree and Peonies as its central image. Diamond shapes with stylized Chrysanthemums border the interior rim and mountain ranges with dotted clouds surround the exterior of the plate. Six original stilt marks to the bottom of the charger indicate the charger was fired in the upper section of the kiln.

A small Japanese leporello album with lacquer covers, containing 46 hand-colored and mounted photographs (albumen prints). Mostly from Japan including topographic views, scenes with geishas, temples and landscapes, four photos are showing views of Shanghai, China.
