A beautiful tall footed tea bowl by Fukushima Hiroko covered in patterns of her signature blend of indigo-blue enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Gosu-e Chawan. It is 12 cm (5 inches) diameter, 10.5 cm (4 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
Fukushima Hiroko was born in Kanagawa prefecture and graduated the Joshi Bijutsu Daigaku Art College Western Painting Department in 1967... A galaxy seems to be forming in the blue clouds on this incredible tea bowl by important young Bizen artist Baba Takashi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Yohen Ao Chawan. It is 12 cm (5 inches) diameter, 8.5 cm (3-1/4 inches) tall and in excellent condition, directly from the artist.
The origin of the ao-yohen (blue kiln transformation) began by chance when a small sake cup (guinomi) accidentally tumbled into the embers, revealing a serendipitous blue kiln change...

This bronze sculpture represents a royal eagle standing on top of a tree stump. Its body and the stump were realized separately and mounted, the transition being right above the talon of the bird of prey. Both are made with hollow wax casting and decorated with incisions to precise the plumage of the eagle or the growth circles of the tree. A small hatch is cut at the top of the eagle’s back to serve as an incense burner.
