An antique Japanese Tansu Chest used for kimono storage and made of Kuri (Chestnut) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware. With Hikutei style handles, the lock plates features bamboo leaves (signifying strength and resilience) and crossed mountain ferns.

Age: Meiji Era (circa 1880-1890)

An antique Japanese Tansu chest known as a Kotansu made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. An antique Japanese Sendai Tansu kimono chest made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware.
