Finely potted porcelain dish with milky white glaze, the broad border moulded with ruyi heads. The center with fine depiction of a kirin, painted in green enamel, iron red and some gold. Please refer to: "Kakiemon Porcelain - A Handbook" by Menno Fitski, No. 126. Condition: little wear to painted area, base with a star crack, rim with a short hairline and a firing default. Dimension: diameter: 14.8 cm, 3.1 cm high.

In our opinion this is the best Iga Vase, we have ever seen. Massive and intentionally distorted Vase of wonderful native Iga clay. The vase is 3300 g heavy and has a height of 8,1'' and a width of 7,1'', which is very tall for an antique Iga vase.

The vase was made between 1800 - 1850 during the later Edo Period and is in good antique condition. No repairs. Only an untimportant chip on the bottom caused during the process of firing. The vase comes with an old wooden box...

Cup and saucer with Kutani aka-e (red) decoration of musing philosophers or poets, the back of the saucer with orchids. Late Edo or Meiji, c 1900. Signed Kutani. Diameter or saucer "4 ¾ / 12 cm, height of cup "2¼/ 5,8 cm. Condition: wear to the decoration, esp. to the saucer (cf. pics).

Bottle vase or sake bottle by Fukagawa, early 20th century. Under-glaze decoration of a carp, Koi, and stormy waves. Signed with Fuji mark. Height "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: fine.

Three thin and lovely cups and saucers with underglaze blue reserves of landscapes, birds and couples against an iron-red and gilt background. All parts marked Mikawachi where most Hirado porcelain of the period was made. An extra saucer to go with the rest, without cost. Height of cups "2¼/ 5,8 cm, diameter of saucers "4/ 10 cm. Condition: fine.

Low tea bowl of irregular round shape. Raku-yaki with red glaze, decorated with black brushed-on spots and white patches, with fine crackle over all. Inside the foot a small area is left uncovered. Japan, Edo period, early 19th century.

Japanese Earthenware Studio Vase, with dripping oily glaze, maybe Seto ware, 9 3/4" high, 4 1/2" diameter-top rim, 4 1/4" diameter-bottom rim, oily drippy glaze applied just over half way down, rest of glaze is chestnut brown color. Lots of glare in the photographs. The condition is good, no damages.

Japanese cylindrical blue and white porcelain brushpot in three-section bamboo form decorated at the center with birds in flight among tree tops. The top section is covered in a key fret pattern and the bottom section with a myriad of small white circular medallions containing foliage set against a blue ground. A band of scrolling foliate decorates the flat interior rim, which is dressed brown...

An unusual-shaped Kutani vase with panels of birds and landscapes on a background scrolling tendrils surrounded by a thickly applied blue-green glaze. All symbols (phoenixes, birds, chrysanthemums, etc.) are symbols of good luck, strength, and prosperity. The stamp on the bottom is a "Fuku" character which means wealth and good luck. Age: 1900 or earlier. Size: H. 16cm. W. 12cm. Condition: No repairs, chips, or breaks.

A rare commemorative white porcelain cup produced by the Fukagawa Arita Company (purveyors to the Imperial Family) inscribed in gold with “A toast to Prince Akihito & Princess Michiko 1959.” The rim is gilt and below it is the gold Japanese Imperial Chrysanthemum Seal. The chrysanthemum flower is also the symbol of Japan and of longevity and rejuvenation...

A Kakiemon style porcelain six lobed dish. Cobalt blue underglaze and red, green, yellow, blue and black outline overglaze enamel decoration of 'three friends of winter' (pine, bamboo and prunus). Assymetry of decoration, as well as palette, typical of Kakiemon type porcelains. But the quality of decoration (though good inside the dish), potting and mark speaks to a more general 'Arita' attribution. Some kiln grit adheres inside the foot rim. 19th century...

Enamel decoration of Ho-o (Japanese mythological Phoenix) in the Kakiemon pallete - black, red, blue, green, yellow and gold overglaze enamel - applied over the glaze inside the dish. Slightly opaque white, large bubble suffused glaze with faint celadon pooling in recesses...
