He was born in name of Okada family, when he was young man he wanted to become as the painter so he became the student of Tanomura Chokunyu in Osaka and studied Japanese painting and Nanga painting but he gave up as the painter because of his illness...

A Japanese Arita porcelain Kakiemon style dish, circa 1720~1750 The square dish with indented corners, the rim with a deep kuchibeni brown rim, the centre with a gobenka motif. The cavetto is decorated with flowers and grasses amongst rocks. Tiny touches of coloured enamels have been applied to the design, a style first seen in the early 18th century. Within the foot-rim can be found a six-character imitation of a Chinese Ming Chenghua reign mark ‘Daimin Seika Nensei’...

A Japanese Arita porcelain Kakiemon style dish, circa 1720~1750. The square dish with indented corners, the rim with a deep kuchibeni brown rim, the centre with a gobenka motif. Japanese small porcelain blue and white water dropper, of a rectangular form with four very short legs. The top of the piece features lingzhi, lotus, and tight scrolling motifs with floral medallions over waves on its sides.

Elegantly decorated vase with a geometric design of 24 facets. Meiji period, late 19th century. Sparsely painted with airy flower sprigs, leaving large parts of the cream-coloured crackle-glazed surface undecorated. The mouth rim with the mon (emblem) of the Itagaki (?) family. Impressed three character mark to the base and painted signature in red. Height "6¼ / 16 cm. Condition: fine.

A very unusual incense burner in the form of two servants holding up Hotei as he looks joyously toward the night sky. It is performed in crackled white glaze over pale clay with simple iron decoration. It comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box bearing the Teishitsu Gigei-in seal titled Ga-korai Hotei Koro indicating it was based on Korean decoration techniques. It is 18.5 x 10 x 14 cm (7-1/2 x 4 x 6 inches) and is in fine condition...

A Tokkuri decorated with an Otsu-e image of a sword bearer and a poem by Otagaki Rengetsu enclosed in a wooden box annotated by the head of Jinkoin Temple and titled Rengetsu-ni saku, Otsu-e Tokkuri, The poem reads:
Furi tate shi As if raising and lowering
mameshi gokoro no his true heart like a standard
hitosuji ni in one line
koyuru ka imo ni will he pass through to meet his love

An incredible bowl of spotted ink supplanted by a midnight blue rim by Kimura Moriyasu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled humbly Tenmoku-yu Chawan. It is 5 inches (12.5 cm) diameter, 3-1/2 inches (8.5 cm) tall with a perfectly formed foot and slightly in-curving bowl form perfect for winter tea. The colors are reminiscent of the Kujaku-yu developed by Matsuyama Gae, yet the application is very different.

Antique Japanese set of 7 imari plates, with cobalt blue underglaze phoenix motif accented in gilt, surrounded by a network of various flowers, red and gilt emblems, butterflies, and cobalt blue geometric design along the inner rim. The underside features designs of mon with leaves and tassels, and six character mark in the center of the foot.

A large futamono (covered dish) in the shape of a Tai-fish by Ninnami Dohachi enclosed in a triple wood box signed and annotated by renowned potter Miura Chikuken (Chikken). The Tai fish (Red Snapper) is a popular motif and commonly served in celebratory occasions because its name (Tai) is a homophone for Medetai (celebration). Like most Shigaraki-wares, this piece has a somewhat primal feeling to it, as though it belongs to a previous geological era in time. Rivulets of vitrified green, grey, and yellow ash stand against a background gradient of soft to intense ochres of the clay body. The intense firing process of this type of pottery for days in an anagama kiln results in a beautiful ashen glaze with a warm, soft, yet vibrant glow when set in the light...

The inside of the bowl is painted with cherry tree boughs laden with blossoms—done in a dazzling underglaze blue-and-white porcelain distinctive of Imari-wares. Below, the trunks of the trees can be seen grounded in a grassy field resting on an abstract ring of karakusa (arabesque). The center of the bowl displays a fashioned wreath of cherry blossoms strung together with field grasses...
