Japanese Pottery Gray and White Tea Bowl, 5" diameter-top rim, 2 3/4" high, with impressed mark on the bottom, 2" long glaze hairline on the side of the bowl.

Japanese Oribe Ceramic Basket with handle, 6" x 7" wide-shaped fluted floral pedal top, 5" high, 3 1/2" diameter-bottom rim, greenish turquoise color drip glaze blended into creamy color glaze, and carved leafy design outside top area. The condition is good, no damages.

Low tea bowl of irregular round shape. Raku-yaki with red glaze, decorated with black brushed-on spots and white patches, with fine crackle over all. Inside the foot a small area is left uncovered. Japan, Edo period, early 19th century.

The vase is moulded with densely decorated relief petals at the top and bottom. Koyama Nanpo mark to base. 6 1/8” high. 19th century. Excellent overall condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The vase itself is very textured in body with a vertically ribbed form as well as tight ridges horizontally. The upper body and neck are glazed in thick oil spill colors. A healthy, plump, round & gentle-faced, "Kintaro" doll holding a lively carp (also considered a symbol of strength and good luck). In folklore, Kintaro grows up to become a famous warrior. He represents the wishes of parents to have a brave, strong, yet gentle son. Size H: 23 cm W: 13.5 cm. Period: Early Taisho. Condition: Some wearing off of pigment on fish. Short rope that goes in front of hat is detached on one side, but can easily be re-attached (we've kept it as is)...

Massive Japanese Meiji period Kyoto Satsuma earthenware deep scalloped rim bowl with 17 lobes densely painted on the interior and exterior with a profusion of gilt and enamel flowers. Four-character Kinkozan tsukuru mark with Shimazu crest to the base. Very heavily potted (weighs over 8 lbs.). Dates circa 1890 - 1910. 11 7/8” diameter by 7” high. Nicely carved wood stand included. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs...

Truly beautiful Japanese antique small earthenware jar from the Shigaraki kiln. Made from the red clay of Lake Biwa, this jar is covered with a thick mineral glaze which has dripped and pooled. It has a lip which has been dimpled for pouring and a wonderful indented area that has been blackened in the firing process. The ash glaze on the lip and on the inside is a lovely green color...

A healthy round-faced, plump figured, seated boy wearing a typical high hat of boy doll figures of the period. He is also wearing a checker-patterned loincloth. His hands are positioned under his chin, where he is holding his hat ties together. The stoneware was formed with a mold (you can see the faint molding line on both sides and underneath--it is not a crack.) The surface has a natural patina from age. Age: Late 19th Century.
