These were acquired in Kandy in 1998 or 1989, the banded agates are all hand carved and are at least 1000 years old (conservatively). Antique Indian bronze sculpture of the elephant headed Hindu god Ganesha, known as the Remover of Obstacles. He stands in dance position, a crown on his head and garland of flowers around his shoulders. In four hands he holds his attributes including his goad or ax (cut off all bonds of attachment), a bowl of sweets (the whole world is at your feet and for your asking) and the end of his broken tusk (keep the good, throw away the bad). Three large old Indian reverse glass paintings in expensive silk mounts with carved gilded frames. Undated, estimated to be late 19th early 20 th century. Overall size of each is 66 x 52 cm. Can be viewed in central London.

Antique Indian jeweled tassel. Suspend from a Chinese hardwood display stand, this Indian tassel is woven with gold, threaded with pearls and ends with a umbrella form over a tiny bell - all set with pearls, emeralds, rubies and diamonds in 18k gold.

Antique Indian miniature panting of a harem scene. Wealthy residences had a protected area where all the women of the house lived. This scene takes place in the antahpur (inner courtyard) of such an area. A wealthy prince is entertained by three beauties. Around them is a lush garden with a fountain and a marble pavilion. Richly painted in gouache, ink and gold on paper...

Formal Indian Sari (just like the ones you see in Bollywood movies), worn for weddings or important religious occasions. This has never been worn. I acquired it from an estate where it has been sitting in a trunk for the past 20 years, and the inside humdity, which caused the brown dye to bleed into the embroidered border somewhat. Please examine images. This L: 5m x 1.4m and is handloomed silk. It was woven in Banaras in the two toned Tanchoi style and silver thread “jari” embroidery...

An Indian Bronze Figure of Vishu. The four armed figure standing on a raised base of traditional form. Holding in two raised arms a chakra and a conch shell. South India 18/19thC. Height; 3 3/4" (9.5 cm). Condition; normal wear and a good patina

This is a very finely cast Tibetan bronze fragment dating to the 17th century or possibly earlier. It depicts a wrathful deity, possibly Vajrabhairava, complete with finely modeled skull crown/tiara to the wrathful head. Please have a look at the photos and feel free to ask any questions. the piece measures 2.5" in height (6.25cm), not including the custom base. Exceptionally well cast with very fine detail. Not easy to find these days

A genuine large old Rajasthani storytellers scroll of the Pabuji legend. Hand painted on thick cotton. Estimated to be early 20th century or earlier. 240 x 92 cm. Can be viewed in central London.

A fine rectangular filigree silver box with hinged lid, standing on four ball feet. Originating country may be India or Indonesia. No silvermark found. Condition: some small losses (the front within the heart shaped decoration, cover with two missing granulation pieces). Slightly distorted areas. Dimension: 9.7 cm x 6.3 cm x 5.8 cm, weight: 111 g.

The body of the ewer seems in embossed rather than cast bronze because the walls are very thin, however the neck and the handle are in cast bronze and very thick. The decor is incised with a character fighting a snake, details are inlaid in gold. 3 fantastic animals are arranged on the sides on either side of the ewer, they are treated in high relief and seem to be in solid bronze and to be one with the body of ewer because we do not see any welding or rivets...

A large Indo-Persian white metal repousse and chiselled plague showing 16 figures, trees and castles. 47x28cm. Undated, estimated to be early 20th century or earlier. Can be viewed in central London and shipped worldwide.

Wooden panel inlaid with mother-of-pearl, bone and ebony. It must be a piece of a very nice old Ottoman part of furniture. This type of decoration was made from the 16th century in Turkey at the height of the empire and is found today on very rare prestigious furniture...

An South Indian Bronze Figure of Sri Devi. One of Vishnu's consorts. Standing holding a closed Lotus bud. Tamil Nadu 18/19thC. Height; 4 5/8" (11.7 cm). Condition; worn patina.

Statue of Hindu goddess Shridevi, one of the two consorts ("shakti") of god Vishnu, standing on an elevated square base, holding a lotus flower in her left hand. Bronze, with fine patina. India, 18th century. Height: 6.2 cm. Some abrasion due to age, otherwise very good condition.

Antique Indian carved wooden doors. Made of heavy hardwood and ornately carved with rosettes and scrolling vines. The upper portion has a window made of two hinged carved panels. The lower portion is decorated with a series of three-dimensional roundels.
