This item was made in China during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor (1796-1820) or late in the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795).

Each panel has gorgeous hardstone inlaid birds of many kinds (including peacocks, roosters, sparrows, water birds, and robins), and an abundance of flora such as lotuses and chrysanthemums, accented with gold leaf. The screen features ball and joint hinges and may be taken apart.
