Price on Request Chinese antique opera theatre costume in the Peking tradition. Most likely that of a Laosheng character and because of the purple color, that of a high ranking military official. Intricately embroidered with dragons and waves. Sewn with golden scales, mirror attachments and three dimensional fu-lion faces.

This large and rare early underglazed jar, complete with cover, was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) at one of the kilns at Yuxi in Yunnan province. Although classed as "blue & white" ware, the colour of the underglaze cobalt blue does vary in places and the clear glaze is distinctly greenish in colour... Chinese Qing dynasty rectangular form rosewood footstool or stand with four square legs connected by hump-back stretchers. 19th century. A nearly identical piece described as hongmu is illustrated as lot 6500 of Bonham’s 14 October 2014 auction in San Francisco. 24 3/4" long x 11 1/2" wide x 5” high; weight: 9 lb. Set of four Canton enamel cups & saucers and one bowl. Finely painted with flower scrolls on yellow ground in "Famille rose" palette and little gold. Interior of the bowl and bottom of the saucers enamelled in pink. Condition: fine, unless minor hairlines and few tiny chips, one saucer's bottom with enamel loss.
