We are glad to present you one of our favorite statues of our collection - very large and precious Chinese Bronze Buddha from the 18th century with rests of gilt.

The Buddha is seated on a lotus base in abhaya mudra position which means protection, peace and the dispelling of fear.

This statue has a Qianglong Seven-Charakter Mark, DA QING QIANLONG NIAN JING ZAO, (1736-1795).

Antique Chinese hardwood low table with fantastic natural woodgrain in original reddish brown finish, its edge panels carved with scrolling vines surrounding an auspicious symbol, sitting on curved legs. Provenance: Property from Christian de Guigne IV Estate, Hillsborough, CA. Size: 31.5" L x 31.5" W x 13.5" H

Chinese antique tall rectangular stand. Made of hardwood and carved with stylized scrolling clouds and dragon head motifs. Elegant lines. Republic Period. Size: 40 3/4" high x 18" wide x 15" deep.

Chinese original wrapped leather trunk. Brass hardware side handles on both sides and front lock. Charming calligraphy on interior of lid. Great original condition with no issues. Late 19th century. Size: 19" H x 30.25" L x 22" D

A large blue and white plate, the well with peony and other flowers within a thin quatrefoil line, the border with keyfret and flowers. Early Qianlong, c 1740. Diameter "10¼/ 26,5 cm. Condition: a hairline, rim frits and a chip (cf. pictures).

Nogime (hare's fur) Tenmoku tea bowl from the Jian Kilns - made in the Northern Song Period around 960 CE. This is one of the first tea bowls in Japan, which came together with the first tea from China. More than 1000 years old!

Little refined iron bearing clay, with iron oxide, thrown into the typical tenmoku shape...

An unusual divided plate with floral designs and two large bats on the underside,symbolizing fruitfulness, prosperity and happiness. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: W.12.5cm. H. 3.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

China, Song (Sung) Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1279 CE, Cizhou or Henan Kiln. Lovely ceramic tea bowl covered with heavy deep brown glaze on the interior and the exterior with grey/beige rim. A lovely example!

A portable vanity case of blackwood with all original hardware and mirror. It is in it's original condition as found. Age. Very early 19th century. Size: L. 27.5cm. W.20cm. H.10.8cm. Condition. No repairs. Mirror has some peeling of the silver backing around the edges, because of age. One handle knocker is missing and the lock has decomposed (common with these old pieces).Some old reinforcement strips on the front and inside.

Antique Chinese mirror vanity box made of beautiful heavy hardwood. Inlaid with scenes of birds, flowers, and bamboo. Original brass hardware. The top is hinged and opens up to reveal a vanity mirror. A small cabinet underneath opens up to show a total of 6 small drawers of various sizes. Each door also has a compartment with a sliding panel for access from the top. Mid 19th Century...

Chinese hardwood barrel stool, with inlaid designs of flowers on scrolling vines and swirling dragons. Nicely detailed birds perched on branches wrapped around the stool. Republic Period (circa 1950's). Size: 13" H x 15.5" W

A striking late 19th Century Chinese Blue & White bulbous lidded Jar. One side has centering underglaze blue shaped rockwork issuing auspicious blossoming stems. Surmounted by a conforming original lid enclosing 3 stylized spread winged bats and a bud form finial. Comes with a nice hardwood Chinese stand. Good condition overall with normal wear. Size H. 9" x 6.5" diameter (23 cm. x 21.5 cm)
