Fine Chinese Western Han Dynasty Burnished Pottery Jar

This fine and rare pottery jar was made during Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8) or possibly a little earlier. It is made from a relatively highly-fired fine-grained grey pottery and has a burnished surface, very smooth to the touch. Enameled in the "Famille rose" palette, the sides with stylized dragon heads between lattice work in overglaze blue.
