This fine and attractive pair of pottery horses with riders was made during the early part of the Ming Dynasty (!368 - 1644). They are made from a creamy-white pottery with features picked out in turquoise and purple glazes that have, in places, acquired a silvery iridescence due to time and exposure to moisture. Jar with a tapering body and a corresponding petalled cover. It is covered overall in a green celadon glaze, except for the foot-ring.
Measurements: diameter (3.3”inches across), height (2.6”inches), cover (2.9”inches across).
