Important Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) sutra container from a San Francisco dealer who has been in business for over 40 years. This sutra container came to us as part of a group which belonged to the Avery Brundage Collection. An unusual Tang pottery of a standing dwarf wearing a robe and hat painted in original orange pigments. He has a stocky figure and a sweet countenance on his downward tilt head. He is full of character. Figures such as these are considered a symbol of good luck and are not easy to find.

3 large hand painted authentic Yao scrolls,1 smaller and 1 crown, 5 items in total. All in good condition. 108x 45 cm, text on reverse. Undated, estimated to be mid 19th century or earlier. Can be viewed in central London and shipped world wide.

Belt hook made of bronze, with fine geometric design in relief at the base and on the stem. Button at the back for attachment to a belt. Green and red encrusted patina. China, Warring States period (-475/-221). Height: 5.6 cm. Very good condition.

A six sided Nyonya plate with a peach and ten Buddhist symbols for good luck with the Tonzhi (1862-1864)stamp and of the period. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware.
