$380.00 This is Shounai-Obi used in Shounai for Edo period. This is woven in cotton and Koyori. This is considerably thick. As for this, cotton is dyed with a natural indigo plant. This has slight gradation in a stripe. This has a bunch of beautiful cotton at the both ends. This has a few stains, but does not stand out. There is no damage. Size 350cm x 20.5cm (137.7 "x 8")

Splashes of gold flecking surround her. The opposite side of the door has been painted with a wonderful scene of boats and mountains...

$430.00 This is Noragi used in the Shonai, Yamagata district for the Meiji period. As for this, cotton is used for the warp. And cotton thread and Koyori-Paper colored into a weft with a natural indigo plant are used.
It is the item which this is called Denti, and a bride brings in the case of a wedding ceremony. This has a hole of 7cm x 9cm (2.7 "x 3.5") to a back. This has some stains, but does not stand out. Size 70cm x 60cm (27.5 "x 23.6")

$3,000.00 Original Antique Japanese gyosho bako (merchant's chest) made from kiri (paulownia) wood with a red lacquer finish. Its front features two doors on iron hinges, with iron fan shaped corner hardware and locks. Many drawers of varying size and handle styles sit within. The sides of the box have iron rings for a merchant to attach straps and carry. Original condition and glowing finish. Wonderful piece.

Iron reds underlie the pale earthen glaze, with a dollop of Oribe green on one side. Almost as if planned, the pieces have firing cracks filled with black lacquer, adding a fourth consideration to the standard essentials: form, design and glazing. Each dish is roughly 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) diameter...

Sold, Thank you! An unusual Meiji period bronze image of the jolly Daikoku-ten, one of the 7 gods of fortune, looking incredibly relaxed and content. His hat is removable to reveal a chamber for burning incense, and the smoke would be exhaled though his open mouth. It is 6-1/2 x 8 x 5-1/2 inches 16.5 x 20 x 14 cm) and is in overall fine, original condition. The artist chop is in a raised cartouche on the base and appears to read Yoshioka Minpo.

Price on Request This is a fairly large set of “hayashi” doll, court music entertainers, all dressed in samurai’s attire with a sword. Three seated dolls in the front row are approx. 5 1/2” (14 1/2 cm) tall x 9 1/2” (23-23.5 cm) wide, excluding hat and stand. The taiko drummer is 11 1/4” (29cm) wide, a little bigger. Two in back row, seated on stools, are 7 1/2” (19cm) tall x 9 3/4” (25cm) wide. The stands are lacquered wood.
