SOLD Antique Japanese two-section tansu in gorgeous original Keyaki (hardwood) with original lacquer finish, with red lacquer top and sides. Iron hardware of a rosy tone adorns each corner and drawer front, such as kakute (squared) shape handles and fleur de lis style locks. Side safe box holds two small drawers within for small treasures. The tansu sits on a custom stand. Key is included.

$380.00 This is Kyogen Hakama which the child of the rich civilian of Kyoto used for the Meiji period.
This has the crest that Kyogen is characteristic of the part of the waist. As for this, the whole is dyed with an indigo plant by Katazome. This has several places of thin dirts. And this has several places of extremely small holes. As for this, cotton is thin. Kyogen Hakama of the child is very rare.

SOLD Beautiful Japanese inro with a swimming highly detailed koi fish on each side. Each koi is delicately carved out of tortoise shell with glass eyes and details in gold lacquer. The body of the info is original lacquer in gold with with gold details and raised tendrils of water. 4 individual pieces (3 compartments), signed on bottom "Kyushi", Edo Period Early 18th century.
Original condition.

This is tsutsugaki & handwriting fireman's cotton coat sashiko hanten coat of a splendid firefighter of the late Tokugawa period of the Edo era(1800-1867). A fight of kawanakajima is a design. It is a very high technique.
A samurai (takeda shingen and uesugi kenshin) and a horse are drawn and are also the uplifting feeling and the excitement which seem to begin to move shortly.
And there is sashiko stitch on the entire surface by hand. As for it, length is longish with 92cm...

The This lantern has four panels: the door: a bird, bamboo branch, tree, sun in the clouds. The lid is round with a handle for hanging. The base is round with three feet. The door latches closed. It measures 11" diameter, 8" tall. Taisho period, circa 1920.

On Hold This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne vase from the 1890's. The work is good enough to be Hayashi. The vase is rather large at 9 1/2 inches and loaded with fine detailing. It is not perfect and the price reflects this. At one time it was a lamp. The drill hole was nicely filled but there are several craze lines around the vase. The rims appear to be silver or nickle. This is a beautiful rare piece of cloisonne.

SOLD Stunning large Antique Japanese ishidoro - stone temple garden lantern, carved all of granite in 6 sections. The lotus base is carved so that it is still connected to the natural rock. The lantern section is different than most ishidoro in that it's roof is rounded and does not have curling corners but instead is more mushroom like in form. The light box is hexagonal and is carved in relief. Edo/Meiji Period. Size: 66" high x 24" wide x 30" wide (at widest point of base).
