Japanese two(2) section Tansu, chest on chest, Ca. Meiji period, late 1800's, 41" high, 41" wide, 17" deep, Black Iron round Back Plate with floral Mon design, beautiful shaped heavy black iron handles. Two(2) small drawers behind black iron mounted small blind door on lower right side. Two(2) small drawers are "as is", one(1) missing small round ring and damaged wooden area in front.

Large and heavy antique Japanese Seto ware Kashiki (dessert) bowl made during Mid-Edo Period (1603-1868)

Seto pottery, dated as early as the 13th century, produced around Seto city in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
It is also considered as one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan.

This Iga vase had been fired with pine fire woods for 10days and naturally ash-glazes made spectacle patterns. It was made in 1990s. Size: 22.8cm(W) 22.5cm(H) 4.0 cm(thick) Accessary: wooden box signed by the artist

Mizutani Hounen(1898-1938) was a Nagoya born Japanese painter. He studied under Nakajima Yuunen(1833-?) and Ishikawa Yuurin(1870-1952). He was adept at painting of bird and flower, especially peacocks...

Antique Kano school ink painting depicted ukiyoe landscape with a rising dragon over Mt. Fuji. Painted with ink and gold pigments on paper. Signed Tatenobu, which is the artist name of the Kano Eitoku(1815-1891). There will probably be lightning and a storm raging in the scene where it depicts a person desperately holding onto a torn umbrella as he rushes forward across a bridge that looks like it is about to overflow with river water...

Quality Japanese carved netsuke of a man bathing; he has one wall eye and a tumour on his forehead; good facial expression; signed on the base of his wash tub; good condition

Wooden figure of an unidentified patriarch of one of the many Buddhist sects, sitting on a double base. He sits in the classic posture with the soles of his feet laid together. From underneath his left sleeve pops out a ryui scepter. His widely spread-out red garment is decorated with flower designs in gold, as are the sides of the upper part of the base he is sitting on. His head is covered with a black cloth with traces of flower decoration in gold...

A cute Japanese gosho ningyo doll in the form of Ebisu, one of seven fortune gods. Handpainted detail work, red and brocaded fabric is used for the clothing of the doll. Meiji to Taisho period. Size: Length: 5.5" Width: 6" Height: 9.5".

Japanese Edo period woodblock print depicting a beauty standing under a pine tree viewing a bustling scene of boats on a waterway by Keisai Eisen (1790-1848). A pupil of Eizan, Eisen is perhaps best known for his prints of sensual women. The artist's signature, "kiwame" censor's seal, and seal of the publisher Sanoki all appear at the lower right. Dates from the 1820s to 1830s. Vertical oban print measuring 15"V x 10"H. Most likely a panel from a triptych...

An antique Japanese imari ware covered basin. The basin is decorated with traditional auspicious Japanese motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum, and cranes. Along with the auspicious motifs are designs often seen with imari wares such as scrolling vines and chrysanthemum-like patterns. Often, these patterns are known as kinrande, where the motifs are emulating gold brocades. Age: Meiji Period Size: Diameter 11.5" Height 7"

Japanese large Imari Porcelain Punch Bowl, 4 1/2" high, 12" diameter-top, early 1920, with typical Imari colors of red, green and orange overglaze enamel on top of the underglaze blue, and highlighted in gold. Very delightful Japanese garden scene just outside the door or window in divided cartouches. There are some scratch marks on the bottom inside the bowl, no cracks, no restoration, no damage.

Antique Japanese fireman's pick axe (tobiguchi), made with a hardwood handle with iron bars and ring, an iron axehead and secondary tool at the bottom of the handle with a nice, aged patina. Edo period (1615-1867) Size: 23.5" length, 4" axehead

Antique Japanese woven lidded basket with large tassles attached to small metal fixtures. It is lined in blue silk, with woven gold thread in auspicious motifs. Size: 5" height, 8.5" width

Antique Japanese suzuri bako, or calligraphy box, made from keyaki (zelkova) hardwood with hand-forged iron hardware. The top of the box is hinged with a large, shallow compartment. The front has two small drawers with iron rings pulls. This box would have once been used for storing ink stones and other calligraphy articles.
