Japanese lacquered on Ceramic No Mask Obishimi Netsuke, Ca. 1920, Meiji period, 1 3/8" high, 1 1/8" wide, 3/4" deep, reddish brown lacquer on Ceramic with painted gold bull's eye, deep wrinkles on forehead, raised fat cheeks, details are bold and deep. The condition is good.

Japanese Sterling Salt and Pepper Shakers, marked "Sterling" on the bottom, 1960's, 2 1/2" high, 1 3/4" wide-widest shade part, twist and open under the shade, they are in good condition.

Early Showa period Japanese silk woman's formal kimono with embroidered highlights decorated on the bottom of the front with two prominent phoenix birds flying among feathery fans. The clusters of fans and the ends of the long phoenix tails extend around to the back side. The fan motif continues on the front and back of the long sleeves. An Arita Export porcelain dish decorated with a design based on a Ming Chinese Kraak plate. A pair of Ho-o birds amongst flowers and bursting pomegranates. Arita, circa 1690 - 1720. A similar dish is illustrated in the Shibata Collection, Kyushu Ceramic Museum, item 2495.

The border pattern shows a striking similarity to that used for V.O.C. orders produced at the Hikeoba and Sarugawa kilns. Circa 1680.
