Rare Boti or vegetables cutter, like any good kitchen utensil this has a multipurpose function, as it can be used as a coconut scraper on the end of the hand forged blade. This one is circa late 19th century from Tamil Nadu. The end of the cutter has been made into the shape of a bird with “floral” patterns carved into t5he wood. Indian Himalayan Copper Yoni Lingam ceremonial vessel for Holy water, Dates from the 17th - 18th century. Forged from hand hammered copper, a tier-shaped vessel with a navel on the interior. Placed on stand, the vessel has a dramatic sculptural presence with a patina showing its use and age. The Yoni (vulva) is the symbol of the Hindu God Shakti.

This is a very well-painted miniature depicting a courtly scene of a nobleman and his companion on the terrace of a palace. Although Mughal in style, I am not 100% convinced that the painting is indeed of the period. For that reason, I am listing it as decorative only and have priced it accordingly. The trellised outer border which surrounds the painting itself is embellished with what appears to be metallic silver highlights. The painted area within the trellised frame measures 4-1/4" X 8"...

An extraordinary photo frame made of steel and decorated with scrolling leaf in silver koftgari work, the surface covered with gilt lacquer. The back embellished with geometric pattern. Early 20th century Gabbeh wide runner. All natural dyes about 6cm missing off the ends and one old repair. L: 262cm/103 and W: 103cm/40.5in. There is some simple Arabic script at the top, but I cannot translate it.

The patachitra, the folk painting of Orissa, has a history of great antiquity. The 'Patachitra' paintings exhibit the use of strong line and brilliant colors. These are religious paintings which cover themes and events from Indian mythology and Puranas and are mainly made on silk or on old cotton glued with paper.

This is one of the most popular subjects and was probably produced as a souvenir (jatri pati) for pilgrims for whom the painting would become a personal family shrine...

A framed lithograph entitled "Horse" by the artist, Kaiko Moti (1921-1989). Moti was born in Bombay, India. He studied at the Bombay School of Fine Art and spent time living and working in Paris. He is most famous for his images of horses. This lithograph is signed in pencil and numbered 15 of 100. Framed.
