Sold to the USA Rare and large bronze shrine. The central figure is a Jina or Tirthankara. He is surrounded by small Jina's on the back plate.
Each of the 24 Tirthankaras is represented by an animal or a symbol. There is an engraved animal on the foot of this shrine, but it is hard to distinguish which animal it is. The shrine is in an excellent condition, all three parts belong together, there are no repairs. It has a clean appearance due to the daily worshipping and washing tradition in Jainism...

SOLD TO THE USA Depicting one of the 24 Tirthankaras with his attendants. His eyes inlaid with silver or electron. Lots of wear due to extensive worshipping. Judging by the beautiful dark brown and green patina, this is an excavated piece. H. 13,5 cm (5,5 inches). Provenance: private collection The Netherlands.

Indian demon chaser mask in bronze repousse from Karnataka in five parts: head, headband, ears and a tube within the head to permit the mounting on a pole. Backside with red paint. Please refer for a quite identical mask to: "Ritual Bronzes of Maharashtra and Karnataka" by Leo S. Figiel, M.D.: Fig. 7-65. Condition: traces of usage, back part of the head and headband with some dents. Dimension: 26.2 cm high.

The chalice has a hinge on its front and back, which could secured shut with a pin or rope. The bronze has some red patina on the feathers of each bird and has bronze patina. Sold to the USA Wonderful and complete sculpture of Padmavati, a Hindu goddess who is worshipped as an aspect of the goddess Lakshmi, but who also plays an important role in Jainisme as the protecting goddess of the 23rd Tirthankara. (note the Tirthankara figure on her forehead. H. 22 cm (9 inches). Condition: excellent, nice wear due to intensive worshipping (Puja). Original back plate. Provenance: private collection Belgium.
Wonderful sculpture of South Indian origin, depicting the god Rama, inlaid with gold and a ruby or similar stone. Excellent wear and patina. H. 11 cm (4,5 inches).
