This very rare and unusual pottery jar was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a grey pottery and has been formed in a two-piece mould, each half having been luted together at the sides. The cover is in the form of a bird and, likewise, has also been made in a two-piece mould. The body of the jar has two moulded ring handles...

The bracelet is 3.5 inches (9 cm) in length by 1.18 inches (3 cm) wide. The inner circumference is 2.3 inches (6 cm). The jadeite are 21.22 mm by 10.5 mm wide. The tourmaline range from 18.43 mm to 20.43 mm in length by 10.32 mm by 12.96 mm wide. It weighs 38 gram.

This vase of meiping form was made in the 12th century during the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234) at one of the Cizhou kilns in the northern provinces. It is "heavily-potted", made from a cream-coloured stoneware, the upper two-thirds of the body coated in a white slip, decorated with a floral pattern in thick dark brown/black underglaze pigment, then coated in a finely-crackled transparent glaze...

This very rare stoneware jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), at one of the kilns in northern China where Cizhou wares were produced during the 11th - 14th centuries. Its purpose was most likely to be used as a wine bottle. It is heavily-potted and of a very attractive form, an almost egg-shaped body, with a short neck, flared mouth and loop handles on either side of the neck (although one has been lost)...

This rare porcelain wine cup was made during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) or possibly a little earlier. To the lower body is a band of moulded Buddhist rui lappets together with a moulded seal mark within the foot. The white porcelain body is particularly translucent, highly-fired with a high-pitched ring when tapped.

It has an unusual raised decorative geometric band surrounding the shoulder and is coated in a yellowish-brown, almost golden glaze, the colour of which varies in places according to the thickness of the glaze as well as, in places, iridescence, a result of long burial in damp conditions...
