From our Early Chinese Collection, an exceptional Northern Qi Dynasty Tomb Guardian (550 - 577 AD), boldly modeled in full military armor with chest and back plates, fringed mail tunics over knee guards, and battle helmet with leather side flaps. His left hand rests upon a leonine shield, the right hand would have clenched a wooden spear which has decomposed long ago...

Description:
A round-shaped pottery inkstone was well preserved.
Supported by three foot which were intriguingly and characteristically in figures as crouching animal, the inkstone was mold with flat surface.
The surface was used as grinding pool for inkcake, so it was concaved in the middle.
In two-step style on the surface, the outer lower rim was designed for resting the lacquered cover which had been decayed and vanished.
Overall it was in newly-excavated condition preserved ...

Chinese antique tomb pottery figure of a portly court lady, Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), 14.25"H with traces of original red and black pigments on sleeves and crevices of body. Minor repairs to hair and neck. Oxford TL Test results consistent with 9th century dating. Fat lady was depicting the famous concubine, Yang Gu Fei, her asymetric coiffure is Duo Maji, 'just off horse look' with disheveled hairdo...

This is a very rare round hole coin known as a Yuan, as identified by the single character on the right. Yuan was a city in the state of Liang in ancient China. This coin has not been acid treated nor artificially aged, it is well worn and has the verdigris that is natural and impossible to scrape off by conventional means. Chinese Northern Song (960-1127) dynasty qingbai (yingqing) porcelain glazed bowl with relatively straight sides and slightly flared rim decorated on the interior with combed abstract swirling floral patterns. The smooth, thin, crackled olive-green glaze pools in the center and accumulates at the exterior foot.
