A Chinese white porcelain snuff bottle, probably Dehua, known in the West as ‘Blanc de Chine’. The moulded body, each side decorated with a central roundel of flowers surrounded with a pair of bats and a Shou character. The stopper, missing its spoon, appears to be faded purple stained soapstone. The thin body is very translucent and inside there are traces of former contents.

A six sided Nyonya plate with a peach and ten Buddhist symbols for good luck with the Tonzhi (1862-1864)stamp and of the period. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. A fine Qing Dynasty, Tongzhi period (1861-1875) bowl with a unique shape and vivid colors inside and out. Artistic and finely distinct embossed painted design on the exterior of the bowl.

Made of red silk, embroidered in the 'forbidden stitch' with peonies and other flowers in red, yellow and white, lined with gold thread. The tassels bound with gold and silver thread. Dimensions: the pouch 7x6 cm, the tassels 16 cm.

Chinese Qing dynasty hardwood wardrobe cabinet with two large doors and a lower apron carved with a flying bat motif. A round round brass lock plate is at the center. The doors and center bar are removable. Supporting wood beams in the interior can hold removable shelves. The cabinet was previously used as an armoire and has been modified to hold a hanging bar. 19th century. 70" high x 49 1/4" wide x 20 3/4" deep...

This large Chinese scale has metal balance beams and shallow metal bowls. The scale fits into an ornately carved red and black lacquer wooden case which is slightly domed and has its original copper band closure. There is some wood chip loss around what was the hole for the string which allowed the case to be hung up for storage. Dating from the 1800's the braided cords which attach the shallow bowls to the metal balance beam appear to be replacement cords...
