The front and back are carved to look like coins held together by ropes. The very top has three hand painted panels depicting gorgeously detailed ocean landscape scenes. Antique fish sculpture, made from silver, with a fully articulated body, allowing wonderful lifelike movement. The forehead bears a symbol of two fish swimming closely in a yin yang formation. Its mouth is slightly open, almost smiling. Each of its scales has been embossed with intricate designs. A four character Chinese manufacturer's mark can be seen underneath the chin. Chinese Famille Jaune Porcelain shape Jar, 8" high, 8 1/4" wide-widest middle section, 3 1/2" diameter-top rim, 6 1/2" diameter-bottom, Ca. 1920, with overglaze decoration of Chinese Happiness Characters with two(2) bats inside four(4) round Cartouches surrounded by sprays of pink Peony flowers. Chinese Export wax seal is placed on the bottom, some glaze crazing inside the jar, and minor wears caused by many years of usage in the kitchen.

There are some glaze crazing and scratches on the surface.
