The stone has a lustrous patina and has a very dramatic ‘splash’ of red on both sides. It has never been carved with a designation and the base has now a shallow flake as a result of an impact on the edge, with a little powdery material showing. Further along there is a tiny bruise to the edge. These could be taken out by reducing the length by 0.4cm. Personally the chip does not worry me...

A six-sided porcelain wine pot warmer painted in Qianjiang style with a scene on one side from a Chinese opera relating to stories from the Three Kingdoms period. On the other side is a poem which we have, as yet, been unable to read. It is signed and dated to 1903. Condition - very good - there are glaze imperfections and there are two chips to the base rim (please view enlargement 2); no further damages and no restoration...

Chinese ink on paper painting of fish and shrimp by Qi Liangmo (b. 1938). Titled and signed at the upper left Qi Liangmo, the 7th son of Qi Baishi, in black ink and with two red seals reading “Qi Liangmo” and “Baishi’s 7th son.” 20th century. 27” x 13 1/2.” Unframed. A pair of small bronze foo dogs or foo lions created by the lost-wax casting process, showing traces from the mold. Both have a wonderful warm patina and would make excellent brush rests for a calligrapher's or artist's detail brushes. In excellent condition, they measure about 2" long x 1.5 inches high.

A Chinese porcelain water dropper in the shape of a fish, made of Macang clay (麻倉土）and finished with light blue glaze. Ming Dynasty, circa late 16th century. Condition: kiln cracks on the bottom and under the fish's mouth, please see photos for detail. Length: 5-1/4".

Charming Chinese ink rubbing of a stone stele depicting a fat cat surrounded by rockery with holes and chrysanthemum flowers after a painting by Jiang Tingxi (1669-1732) that was based upon an earlier work by Ming artist Lu Ji (1477-1505). Jiang’s seal bears the artist’s pseudonym “Nansha.” Likely dates late Qing to Republic period (late 19th to early 20th century). Paper: 24 3/4" x 13 3/4 (image: 21 3/8" x 11 1/4"). A fine and unusual brush rest in the shape of a dragon-fish or some similar mythological animal. Carved of what appears to be boxwood with a dark-reddish lacquer coating. On the bottom side an illegible signature in raised relief consisting of two Chinese characters. Qing, probably second half of 18th cent. L 15 cm. Condition: Fine all-over, but with wear due to age & handling.

One Crack line is found inside.
And there are some old restorations on the outside.

Rare Chinese Song Dynasty Zoomorphic Water Pot with Dragon Handle

This very rare vessel, a water pot, was made during the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1127). The vessel is zoomorphic being in the form of a recumbent animal with four legs/feet tucked under its body. Where an animal's head would be is a wide circular pouring spout. A fine quality water pot for use on the scholars desk. The porcelain is very white and translucent. The fine blue art work shows two five toed dragons chasing the flaming pearl. There is a six character Guangxu Dynasty mark on the base, but it is not the mark used by the Royal Kiln. As the pot is not Imperial Ware we believe it was made during the Republic Period in Guangxu Style...

A wood brush pot was in nice form.
It was well preserved despite the bottom cover was lost and was replaced by an old plank of wood.
The surface was in kind of dry-feel and in pale tint. But I believe it can be transformed easily by rubbing with wood wax and changed to a beautifulcolor.

Deeply carved Cantonese style hardwood calligraphy brush depicting figures, foliage, and other designs with a pin pierced background. Ferrule and end cap is one piece and brush is natural animal hair. Circa 1900. Excellent condition. Total length is 13 inches long, wood handle 9".

A very attractive stand of natural, gnarled root wood with a deep honey color and very good details. Finely grained wood (cypress?) with dark recesses. To be use to enhance the beauty of a fine small vase, cup or scholar object as incense burner. China, Qing, probably late 19th century. H 13 cm, W 15 cm. Condition: very good and fine patina.

A small but very attractive album leaf in ink and faint colors on silk depicting a scholar on an outing on a river or lake. Signed: Yue An zhu ren (Moon Hermitage Dweller). Dated gengshen = 1860. The style used is in imitation of the ‘dry or sparse ink landscape’ associated with the Yuan painter Ni Zan (1301–1374). Qing, mid-19th cent. H 23 cm, W 18.5 cm (picture frame). Condition: Fair w. some soiling.

Small Guangxu ink well, circa 1880's, dense, heavy and beautiful. It could also have been used as a small brush washer and doubled as a document or paper weight when not in use. In good condition it has a few nicks around the outer edge expected with a well used piece. Measures 3.25 wide x 1.25 high.

These old Chinese tinted eyeglasses date from the Qing Dynasty. There is a tiny bat on the nose bridge, and ornately detailed hinged temple and ear pieces.
