Ancient mask of the traditional esoteric "Nuo" theater, representing the character of General Guanyu, wearing his helmet. Wood, with multiple superimposed polychrome pigments, meant to enhance the mask features, of which part is painted on paper glued to the mask. China, early 19th C. Height: 33 cm. The mask is mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition.

$1,200.00 Small pink rock crystal teapot. It is carved with 5 dragons cut with a grinding wheel in high relief. One of them serves as a handle, another as a pouring spout and a third as a gripping fretel. The last two are flanked on either side of the teapot. The 5 dragons have a strong cultural significance in Chinese art. Wooden base, finely crafted with stylized dragons. Chinese work from the 20th century, probably from the 1960s. SOLD A well-carved nephrite jade plaque depicting a coiled, sinuous dragon paired with a phoenix and spiral-incised "bi" disc. The phoenix and "bi" disc have been covered with a gold lacuer gilding. Intricate, flowing spiral decoration covers the dragon's body and the disc. The piece measures 3-3/4" end to end and is, as best I can tell, made entirely without the use of modern cutting tools...
