Fine quality, very large spinach jade bowl; good colour and translucency; bell shaped; photos taken in natural light; excellent condition

Pair of finely carved wooden panels of the eight Taoist immortals and their attribute. These panels were to be part of a small religious piece of furniture rather than a screen. The wood is left natural, the carving is exceptionally good quality for Chinese woodwork. No traces of pigments, only the edges are lacquered in red as can be seen in a photo. The back of the panels is covered with a red layer of lacquer or oil paint which has cracked and degraded over time...

Small jade buckle cut with a grinding wheel, representing a dragon (chilong) curved on itself in the archaic style of the Han period. It is said that this type of buckle was used to suspend a sword on the belt. artist has excellently represented the small animal harmoniously curled up on itself and ready to pounce. The details are perfectly sculpted. The jade is slightly greyish-celadon white, not "fat sheep white". Photos are correctly representative of the color...

Early 20th Century rose quartz carving of 2 beauties. Made of one piece, it is difficult to find a double figure carving like this. Presented on a custom rosewood stand, this rose quartz carving has really nice details that we were not able to fully capture with a camera. It is much nicer in person and you won't be disappointed. In excellent condition, it measures on stand 10-1/2" high x 5" wide x 2". Carving alone measures 9-1/8" high.

Cup with handles cut from white Celadon jade. Decorated with “nails” in relief in the archaic style. The two handles stand out widely from the cup. The handles of this type of cup were most often damaged and restorers have partially reduced or even completely eliminated them. The one presented here has exceptionally preserved its handles in their entirety. One of the two has probably been slightly damaged and ground as we can see in the photos...

A pair of 1950’s variegated green serpentine jade stone Chinese phoenix birds with rosewood stands. The birds have great sharp details with wonderful coloring, and the polishing is simply gorgeous. The stands are deep rosewood and carved to fit each piece. In excellent condition, they measure 9.5” high on stand. Birds only measure 8" high, 4" wide, 1.5" thick...

This is a pale celadon and russet jade plaque, dating to the Qing dynasty. The piece is entirely worked by hand, with no indication of modern/machine carving (or re-carving). It measures 2-1/2 inches in length and has been perforated lengthwise to permit it to be strung with a cord and worn. The reverse side has been carved with a series of symbols. Antique Chinese round jadeite plaque carving. With a freely-moving pierced jade center, surrounded by lingzhi mushroom motif carvings. The outermost exterior of the piece is carved with a pair of dragons or serpents touching snouts.

Superb little agate lotus design brush washer. Hand carved and polished natural color stone, it has russet/orange skin in the areas carved with curling edges and the design is complete with an incised center area and fully worked underside showing stems, pods, leaves and flowers. The surface polish is first rate and this is a very desirable piece. Includes original fitted hardwood stand. Dates late Qing to early Republic. Brusher measures 3.75" x 3". Height 1.5", On Stand Height 2.25"

White jade jewelry representing a phoenix in flight among plants. The vigorous, angular sculpture and multi-level carving are typical of the period of the 15th-16th century during the Chinese Ming dynasty. However, it could be older. The color of jade is grayish white, it was inlaid on the lid of a pretty precious wooden box with beautiful veins, which contributed to protecting it. Two malachite flower vase are inlaid on either side of the jade pendant...

Beautiful antique red-toned bamboo brush holder from China with intricate carvings of various scenes including cherry blossom trees, a man leading a horse, two beautiful maidens shyly conversing with a young gentleman, an older man admiring the scenery through his window, and kanji reading "carved in the year of the tiger by San Miao". Great attention to detail is shown in this piece. Size: 5.5" wide, 7" tall

Antique Japanese Noh theatre mask of a young woman, or Onna. Hand-carved cypress wood with katabori chisel mark patina. Her face is hand-painted in dimensional flesh tones, with blackened teeth, red lips, and wisps of hair.

Chinese jadeite carved wide toothed hair comb with bright apple green coloration areas. The back of the comb is carved with openwork scrolls.

20th century Dimensions: 1 1/2" x 5"

Early to mid 19c light greyish/celadon jade medallion in circular form having a central Kylin surrounded by symbols. Superbly carved and pierced with the finest details with a worked edge having the back indented and smoothly finished. This medallion was probably removed from a cloisonne or bronze wine ewer or censor. This piece is of the finest caliber, showing a wonderful hand polish all the way through and in perfect condition. Size 2-1/4" Diameter and nice thickness...

Beautiful Chinese serpentine carving of a standing maiden, carved of light green jade with subtle white striations, she stands with one arm behind her and another hand in front holding the sash of her long, flowing robe, Republic Period (c1940) Size: 8 1/2" high

Small Chinese jadeite carving of a melon with flecked shades of white, light green, and apple green, carved with the vine curling down its backside and a lingzhi motif at the top of the vine. Pierced through the top to be worn as a pendant. Size: 1.25" x 1/2"

Fine Chinese jade libation cup; shows two Chilong, one with its head draped over the handle and the other shown crawling up the other side; lovely russeted section blends well into the green; natural cracks present; good condition

This is a large amulet with two holes for suspension and was most probably used as a chest piece (pectoral). The polish is so spectacularly well done that the piece feels as smooth as silk when held. The large central hole gently tapers on both sides. It measures a full 4" in length and is 2-1/2" in height. Roughly 1/8" thick. In color a varied green nephrite with a minimal residue of the polishing material remaining on the surface.
